Schönefeld Airport (SXL), is situated south of Berlin and especially deals with low cost airlines. From the 60s until the fall of the Berlin wall, Schönefeld Airport offered many flights to Eastern European cities, like Budapest or Prague. Frankfurt Airport (FRA) is the major international airport of Germany, located in Frankfurt. It is the third busiest airport of Europe.

Frankfurt Airport in less than an hour on the high speed InterCity line. This opens up many possibilities for connections that should contribute to the airport's growth and also relieve the Frankfurt runways to some extent.
