I was so happy to find such a simple back to basics crepe recipe that only required a whisk, a large bowl, one frying pan and four ingredients, but yields delicious crepes. In fact it was so simple my boyfriend who can only cook the very basic of things managed to successfully make crepes using this recipe too. The ingredients are very simple and the finished product can be treated like pancakes or loaded with fillings like bananas, strawberries, eggs, or cheese, and then eaten like a burrito.

Here is my simple step-by-step method (with batter recipe) for making crepes. The accompanying photos will show you exactly how to create these delicious treats for your guests or family. In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs, 1/2 cup of the milk and the sugar and salt until combined. Whisk in the flour until the batter is smooth. Blend until smooth, then strain into a jug. Cover and set aside to rest for 30 minutes at room temperature.I became somewhat of a crepe expert in my family, and mind you, being an expert in crepes does not amount to many privileges here, except for the privilege of making lots of crepes and practicing flipping them (the crepes) on a frying pan.

I literally could flip them with my eyes closed. This basic recipe makes a tasty wrap for any type of filling. In this method, we fold the crepe into a square leaving a little “window” in the middle to show off what’s inside, but you can simply roll the crepe over a filling or fold it in half.
