Amd overclock failed to start

So today I attempted to overclock my pc. After applying the settings, I restarted my computer and walked out of my room. I decided to try overclocking for the first time. Problem is my PC will no longer boot to windows. None of my settings in Global Overdrive save on shutdown/restart.

Have to reset them every single time I log in which is a massive pain in the backside! PC part can take before you start to see detrimental effects. These could be a drop in frame rates for GPUs, corrupting processes on the CPU, or even a failure to boot at all.

Is this easy to fix for a not so technical person such as myself. The Scan guys did install some Acronis software but I've never used it before and don't know if this even sorts out overclocking problems. Well a little over 9 minutes in it stopped saying hardware failure detected and it stopped the test. I was looking at the graphs and all, and I see nothing that indicates anything was wrong.

To overclock your AMD or Intel CPU, you first need to have a chip that is Multiplier unlocked. For Intel users, just look for the K at the end of the product name.

It looked like overclocking was dead when AMD did away with the multiplier unlocker trick on the Athlon XP. But overclocking has remained, because you can use a super-overclocker chip to take away competitor marketshare. AMD overdrive is easier going to Auto clock click start and AMD over drive will find the best over clock. Please note that it will lock this in so your processor always uses this frequency (bad for battery life).
